As we observe public holidays this week, I challenge every salesperson in Nigeria and beyond to seize this opportunity for reflection. Here’s a task to sharpen your skills and elevate your sales game:

1. Identify three compelling claims about the product, service, or idea that you find most challenging to sell.

2. Back up each claim with four solid facts or pieces of evidence that substantiate your claims.

3. List five features that define what the offer is, does, and its core performance characteristics.

4. Identify six advantages your product, service, or idea has over major competitors in your market.

5. Outline the seven risks prospects face by not choosing to buy from you. In other words, what would they lose?

6. Envision the eight ways in which your prospects’ situation, business, processes, or revenue will improve by choosing to buy from you.
